E3 Booth Tour: Turtle Beach
In addition to a few of its current headset offerings, Turtle Beach showed off four new and soon-to-be-released gaming headsets at the 2011 E3 Expo in Los Angeles earlier this month.
The company's XL1 is to be the newest entry-level headset made for the Xbox 360. It features 50mm drivers for stereo sound and has independant control for chat and game volume. The XL1 comes out this summer.
Turtle Beach also showed off the Z6A. It's a PC headset with four drivers per ear and has earcups and drivers geared for the best positional audio the company can achieve.
Two wireless headsets were also shown, one of which is the company's first wireless Xbox 360 headset (the XP500).
The top-of-the-line XP500 is a Dolby surround sound headset that is fully wireless and has a detachable microphone. It also has bluetooth for Xbox LIVE chat. The XP500 can also be paired with a mobile phone and/or music player.
The PX3 is the other wireless headset shown at E3. It has a wireless transmitter that plugs into the TV or Xbox and also has an AUX jack for plugging in other sources to stream while gaming. Turtle Beach claims battery life of ten-to-twelve hours per charge on the PX3's rechargable battery.
