Vallivue wins twice
AMERICAN LEGION: Cody Sutton had four RBIs over two games as the Vallivue Titans picked up a pair of wins in American Legion AA action Friday at the BWW Classic in Pocatello.
Tommy Lynch picked up the win on the mound in the Titans opener, a 6-3 win against La Grande, and Jaycob Rush was the winner in the second game, a 9-4 win against Pendleton.
Hawks to host camp
BASEBALL: Boise Hawks players and coaches will host a baseball camp on July 6-7 at Memorial Stadium.
The $80 camp features the following: Two tickets to the July 7 game, lunch with the Hawks, T-shirt, certificate of completion, and an autograph session.
The camp will run 8 a.m.-noon July 6; 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. July 7.
Also, fans can enter the Dream Team Promotion, which awards 12 free admissions to the camp. Fans can enter the contest at the Qwest kiosk in the Boise Towne Square Mall.
The winning team will be selected June 23.

It feels like the mall is always packed: You can never find a parking spot and you have to compete with thousands of other pairs of feet, seemingly all marching to your favorite store.
But sprinkled throughout the colorful signs of the nation's biggest retailers, there are other signs - those of recession and a down economy: empty spaces, boarded up and blocked off.
But that could be changing. J.Crew, Vans, Yankee Candle and Francesca's Collections are all opening stores in the Boise Towne Square Mall: four retailers new to the state of Idaho welcoming all those shopping feet with open doors.
Two of those feet belong to Roarie Hand. She's a student at the University of Idaho. Friday, the shoes on her feet were Vans.
"I am really excited for the Vans store," Hand said, "because I love Vans."
The corporation that owns the mall is also excited. It hopes the new stores mean the economy is on the rebound.
"We've been fortunate to see some change in this past holiday season, which is very encouraging," said mall spokeswoman Stephanie Jackson. "I think people are starting to shop again.
