Fiber Art Primer and Scarf Tying Demonstration
Barbeque on Wednesday, June 29. The luncheon will begin at 11:15 a.m.Following the luncheon, fiber artist and Round Pond resident Phyllis Harper Loney will discuss how she paints on textiles, usually using reactive dyes directly applied with a brush to natural fiber fabrics. Loney’s Fabric of choice has been silk. Among the creations that can be seen in her studio and which will be discussed at the Center’s luncheon on the 29 will be wall hangings and colorful silk scarves. Remember to bring your favorite scarf, men too, so that under Phyllis’ guidance, you can discover year round new ways of tying and wearing your favorite scarf.
The Phyllis Loney Studio is located at 1287 State Road Route 32, Round Pond. It features fiber art, silks and cottons hand painted with brilliant dyes, one of a kind hangings, quilts and scarves.
